Our round-trip transfer starts from downtown Playa del Carmen, driving approximately one hour to our first destination, the Mayan community of Pacchen. Here, we will first kayak in a private lagoon, then zip line over the lagoon, and walk to reach a second zip line (this time over the top of an open cenote). We’ll cross a wooden bridge to finally arrive at a hidden cenote, where we will do an exciting rappel, descend into the cenote waters, swim there, and exit via vertical stairs.
Once our adventures are complete, we will dry off and move to another Mayan community, where a shaman will welcome us with a Mayan Ceremony to cleanse our souls and receive the blessing of Mother Nature. Next, you will learn to make handmade tortillas in a typical Mayan kitchen, and the chef will explain all the ingredients used to prepare the dishes you will enjoy during the meal. The highlight will be extracting the “cochinita pibil” (pork cooked in the ground) as it cooks in the earth, to finally sit down and enjoy an incredible three-course meal with local sauces, tacos, pork, black beans, rice, and a delicious sweet flan, accompanied by local coffee. You will never want to leave.
